Exaleiptron kothon on a low, conical foot. Ribbon-shaped base, upper part covered with varnish. Band decoration painted on clay. Delicate lines painted in red. Decoration in the form of concentric circles on the bottom of the vessel. Delicate orange lines. Main decorative ornament consists of smaller, narrower leaves. Outer part of the foot covered with red varnish. Inner surface entirely covered with red varnish thin, unevenly distributed layer. Technology: Smooth surface. Visible traces of turning. Fine-grained clay, visible pyroxene. Notes: Glued artefact. Conservation work visible. Large losses in varnish and impurities visible inside the vessel. Clay color: Red 10 R 5/4 weak red — 10 R 5/8 red. Attributed maker: unknown. Date: 2nd half of the 6th century BC. Place of origin: Corinth. Object type: vessel, kothon, exaleiptron. Dimensions: height 5.5 cm, width 17.4 cm, depth 14.5 cm, weight 0.304 kg., A shallow round ceramic vessel with a short spout-like handle on one side, showing a band of painted decorative motifs near the rim; the vessel surface displays shades of beige, terracotta, reddish-brown, and darker brown, with areas of wear and lighter spots, and the interior appears darker brown; the background is a uniform gray.
