Necklace, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop; jewellery of frit beads; composed of forty-eight notched 6–7 notches spherical beads of medium size. Early Jazira III / Early Dynastic III period, 1st half of 3rd millennium BC c. 2600–c. 2350 BC. Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Syria. Associated with children's graves as grave equipment. Decoration. Measurements: total length 29 cm; bead thickness min 0.44 cm, max 0.6 cm; bead diameter min 0.7 cm, max 0.96 cm; bead hole diameter 0.2 cm., A circular arrangement of small, irregular beads strung on thin thread against a plain light gray background, the beads showing rough, pitted surfaces and uneven shapes in a range of earthy colors including various shades of brown, beige, tan, gray, and some pale off-white, with a few beads appearing speckled or mottled and the thread visible at the top where two beads are slightly separated.
