Fragment of a necklace, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, beads, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC; Early Dynastic III period, nine irregular elongated rock crystal lumps. Originally a conical lump of frit with a hole for stringing was glued to each lump. Found at Tell Rad Shakra, northeastern Syria Al-Jazira, Khabur basin, Northern Mesopotamia. decoration, A group of small translucent irregular stones scattered against a plain background, with visible surfaces showing glossy and rough textures; the stones are mostly clear to milky white with patches of pale yellowish-brown and hints of gray and light brown on some surfaces.
