Kitchen pot, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. A kitchen pot with an egg-shaped belly and rounded bottom. In the upper part the walls bend slightly inward, forming narrow shoulders from which arises a low, cylindrical, wide neck with a straight, slightly tilted spout. Two slightly thickened horizontal crescent-shaped handles are attached on opposite edges. Outer walls intentionally roughened at the bottom up to half the vessel’s height, while above they are carefully polished. Traces of soot are visible on the bottom and slightly above. Syria, Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Syria. Vessel; height 20.5 cm, width 20.7 cm., A large round object fills most of the frame, showing a rough, pitted surface with irregular patches and mottling; the dominant colors are various shades of brown and dark brown with areas of lighter tan, and there is a neutral gray background surrounding the object.
