Kitchen pot, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. A kitchen pot with an egg-shaped belly and rounded bottom. Upper walls bend slightly inward forming narrow shoulders that give rise to a low, cylindrical wide neck with a straight, slightly tilted spout. Two slightly thickened horizontal crescent-shaped handles are attached on opposite edges of the spout. Outer walls are intentionally roughened at the bottom up to half the vessel’s height and carefully polished above. Traces of soot are visible on the bottom and slightly above. Vessel; height 20.5 cm, width 20.7 cm., A large rounded clay pot with a narrow rim in shades of brown and tan, showing darker brown and almost black areas on its lower half and lighter tan patches near the top, with an overall textured, weathered surface and a muted gray background.
