Kitchen pot, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Kitchen vessel with an egg-shaped belly and rounded bottom. Upper walls bend slightly inward to form narrow shoulders rising to a low cylindrical wide neck with a straight, slightly tilted spout. Two slightly thickened horizontal crescent-shaped handles attach on opposite edges. Outer walls intentionally roughened on the lower half and carefully polished above. Traces of soot visible on the bottom and slightly above. Syria; Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Syria. Vessel; height 20.5 cm, width 20.7 cm., A large rounded clay pot with a wide slightly flared rim shown against a plain gray background; the pot's surface displays an uneven, weathered texture with areas of light brown, tan, dark brown, and grayish-black, and visible mottled patches and subtle cracks across its body.
