Spherical vessel, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop; Early Jazira III / Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Clay, vice-free spherical vessel with an ovoid belly widening toward the top, small flat round bottom, short sloping shoulders merging into a low wide neck terminating in a rounded rim formed as a wide, thickened strip on the outside. Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Mesopotamia, Syria. Height 28 cm; width 28 cm., A round, worn object with a smooth surface displaying shades of beige, tan, light brown, and pale peach sits against a solid gray background; the surface shows a few faint cracks, scuffs, and subtle variations in tone and texture, with a small darker circular area near the center and several tiny dark specks scattered across the surface.
