Spherical vessel, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC, Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Clay spherical vessel with an ovoid belly widening towards the top, small flat round bottom, short sloping shoulders merging into a low wide neck terminating in a rounded rim formed as a wide, thickened strip on the outside. Origin: Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Mesopotamia, Syria. Height 28 cm; width 28 cm., A large rounded ceramic vessel with a wide rim, showing a weathered surface in shades of beige, cream, light brown, and pale terracotta, with several irregular lighter streaks and faint darker spots; the pot has a matte texture and visible fine cracks and subtle surface blemishes against a solid muted gray background.
