Spherical vessel, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC / Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC, clay, wheel-made, spherical vessel with an ovoid belly widening towards the top, small flat round bottom, short sloping shoulders merging into a low wide neck terminating in a rounded rim formed as a wide, thickened strip on the outside; provenance: Al-Jazira Khabur basin, northern Mesopotamia, Tell Rad Shakra Syria, northeastern Mesopotamia; height 28 cm, width 28 cm, A rounded clay vessel with a short, slightly flared rim sits against a solid background; the vessel shows a weathered surface with a few areas of pale beige, cream, light tan, and soft orange hues, along with subtle darker spots and smudges, fine surface cracks, and faint irregular texture across its curved body.
