Spherical vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC / Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Spherical vessel with an egg-shaped belly and a rounded bottom; in the upper part the belly merges into a low cylindrical neck terminating in a narrow, strongly protruding, rounded rim turned outwards. Clay, vice-free bulbous vessel. Origin: Al-Jazira Khabur basin, Northern Mesopotamia; Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Syria. Height 16.5 cm, width 16.2 cm., A round, weathered object with a rough, sandy surface in shades of beige and tan, showing a few dark cracks and hairline fractures across its surface; there is a small area with traces of darker markings in muted blue and red, and a few tiny pale spots and scuffs; the background is a solid muted gray.
