Spherical vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop; Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC; Early Dynastic III period. Clay vessel, vice-less spherical vessel with a rounded bottom. The upper part of the vessel wall bends inward, creating sloping arms that merge into an arched, low neck terminating in a narrow, outwardly obliquely cut rim with a triangular cross-section. c. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra Northeastern Syria. Height 20.3 cm; width 21 cm., A large round object fills the frame against a muted gray background, showing a rough, pitted surface in shades of beige, cream, and light tan with patches of darker brown and subtle gray speckling; there are a few irregular darker smudges and a thin crack near the top, and the overall texture appears granular and weathered.
