Spherical vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC, clay; vice-less spherical vessel with a rounded bottom. In the upper part the vessel wall bends inward, creating sloping arms that merge into an arched, low neck terminating in a narrow, outwardly obliquely cut rim with a triangular cross section. c. 2600–ca. 2350 BC Early Dynastic III period. Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra, Northeastern Syria. Vessel; height 20.3 cm, width 21 cm., A rounded clay vessel with a narrow neck and outward-turned rim fills the frame, showing a textured surface with irregular pitting and small flecks; the vessel appears in shades of beige, tan, and light brown with subtle darker brown speckles, set against a uniform medium gray background.
