Vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, vice-free vessel for oils and ointments, spherical vessel. Low vessel with a spherical belly, rounded bottom and low, wide neck with a narrow, upturned spout. The vessel was smoothed and fired in a reduction atmosphere. 1st half of the 3rd millennium BC; Early Jazira III period, Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra North-eastern Syria. Material culture; excavations of the Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, University of Warsaw. Vessel; height 6.1 cm, width 6.9 cm, weight 85 g., A rounded ceramic pot with a flared rim sits on a clear circular stand, showing a surface of warm brown and tan tones with lighter beige streaks and areas of darker brown near the mouth; the pot displays visible hairline cracks and repair lines, faint horizontal tool marks encircling its body, subtle surface abrasions, and a few small chips along the rim, while the stand appears translucent white against a neutral light gray background.
