Vessel with an ellipsoidal belly, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC / Early Dynastic III period, clay vessel for oils and ointments, vice-free, Al-Jazira Northern Mesopotamia: Syria/Iraq; Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra Northeastern Syria, small vessel with an ellipsoidal belly, rounded bottom, low flared neck ending in a flat top thickened by an outward curl, ca. 2600–2350 BC, height 7.4 cm, width 8.6 cm, A roughly circular, weathered object with a textured surface occupies the image against a plain gray background; the object shows a range of earthy tones including beige, tan, light brown, and pale green, with darker brown speckles and patches, and traces of white residue in areas, while a few small pits and surface irregularities are visible and a faint circular impression can be seen near the center.
