Vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC, metallic ware; spherical vessel for oils and ointments, vice-free, low vessel with a spherical belly, rounded bottom and low, wide neck with a narrow, upturned spout. The vessel was carefully smoothed and fired in a reduction atmosphere. Syria, Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra; height 9.4 cm, width 9.7 cm., A round, dome-shaped object with a rough, weathered surface in shades of gray and brown sits against a solid gray background; the object shows circular wear patterns, a visible crack running from near the top toward the edge, a few small pits and chips, and subtle lighter and darker mottling across its surface.
