Vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC, metallic ware, spherical vessel for oils and ointments, low vessel with a spherical belly, rounded bottom and low, wide neck with a narrow, upturned spout. The vessel was carefully smoothed and fired in a reduction atmosphere. Syria Tell Rad Shakra, Khabur basin, Northeastern Syria, Northern Mesopotamia place of production, height 9.4 cm, width 9.7 cm., A rounded, weathered clay vessel with a wide rim and bulbous body sits against a plain gray background; the vessel shows a rough surface texture with visible cracks and hairline fractures, areas of uneven wear, and small pits and flecks; the colors visible include muted gray, brown, beige, and hints of darker gray tones across the pot.
