The rear wall is rather carelessly worked. Numerous abrasions and damage, particularly to the corners and the figures on both sides of the front. Circa 270 CE, Roman Empire. Sarcophagus Roman. Height 100 cm, width 214 cm, depth 100 cm, weight 2400 kg., A carved stone surface in shades of gray shows a repeated petal-like pattern with a small sculpted figure nestled in the central petal; the figure appears to have curly hair and is posed with one arm bent toward the head and the other across the chest, and the surrounding carved grooves create a symmetrical, layered design.
