A small bronze figurine of a pig. The animal stands on rather schematically depicted legs ending in forward-pointing hooves. The animal's massive body is characterized by an unnatural length. The torso is adorned with a small, doubled tail. The presence of hair is clearly marked on the animal's back. The pig's muzzle, set on a thick neck, ends in a narrow snout. The pig's slightly protruding ears point forward. The animal's eyes, which are unusually large relative to the rest of the body, are clearly marked. The sculpture is covered with a natural patina. The figurine was probably used as a votive offering primary or secondary; this interpretation is supported by its finding in the vicinity of the temple. Hellenistic period, Kyrene Libya. Figurine. Height 1.8 cm; width 4.2 cm; depth 1.4 cm; weight 0.035 kg., A small sculpted animal figure with a rounded body and short legs, rendered in metallic tones of brown, bronze, and gold with darker brown and black spots and patches; the surface is textured with rough, pitted areas and faint ridged detailing along the back and tail region, and there are small pointed ears and a snout visible; the figure casts a soft shadow on a light gray surface against a mid-gray background.
