Figurine of a seated woman. Figurine of a woman sitting on a throne with her hands placed on her knees, made of reddish-yellowish clay. The frontally shown female figure has more clearly defined facial contours in relation to the body. She is dressed in a chiton and a himation thrown over the back of her head. The back of the figurine is unframed. The figurine is of the East Greek Group type, 1st half of the 5th century BC, Cyrene Libya. Figurine; height 9.5 cm, width 4 cm, depth 5.8 cm, weight 0.10 kg., A seated figurine carved from a brownish-beige material with a weathered, cracked surface and darker brown mottling, shown in profile; the figure has a rounded head with a subtle nose and chin, a smooth hood or draped shape extending down the back, a simplified torso and arms folded or resting at the sides, and legs tucked forward with a suggestion of feet, all resting on a clear display support against a pale gray background.
