Smoothed surface with an imprint of a thin cord about halfway up. Surface color red to dark red. Complete with isolated losses on the rim and three holes in the vessel walls. Egyptian amphora made of Nile clay, possibly from Thebes. Likely developed from Third Intermediate Period storage vessels and probably used as a water container. Analogous examples are known from Amarna, Qau el-Kebir, Matmar, Elephantine, Hermopolis, Herakleopolis, Abydos, and Deir el-Medina. Dimensions: height 47.2 cm; rim diameter 11.7 cm; belly diameter 30.2 cm.
