Vessel with hieratic inscription. Egyptian pottery, clay conical vessel tapering toward the bottom, slightly irregular; widest at approx. 3/4 of the height. Narrow, slightly sloping shoulders; short, wide neck; thickened, rounded, slightly flaring rim; pointed bottom. Handcrafted, upper part shoulders, neck, rim turned. Smooth surface, externally probably covered with a layer of engobe. Made of Nile clay Vienna System. Color: red exterior, beige interior. Remains of a hieratic inscription in black on the lower part of the belly. Rim slightly damaged in several places. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC. Height 13.8 cm; rim diameter 5.9 cm; belly diameter 8.9 cm.
