Vessel with hieratic inscription, Egyptian pottery conical clay vessel Nile clay, NB according to the Vienna System, Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC. Handcrafted, tapering to a pointed bottom; slightly irregular, widest at ~3/4 of the height; narrow sloping shoulders, short wide neck, very gently rounded widening rim rim damaged. Upper part shoulders, neck, rim turned. Around half the height a trace of joining of two separately made parts. Surface leveled, outer probably covered with a layer of engobe. Remains of a hieratic inscription in black on lower part of the belly. Height 13.2 cm; rim diameter 5.8 cm; body diameter 8.3 cm. Analogies: Petrie, Dendera pl.
