On the bottom of the scarab is another cartouche with the same name and two snakes turned inward. c. 1550–c. 1069 BC, New Kingdom, Western Thebes Valley of the Queens. Materials/function: scarab amulet; height 3.8 cm, width 2.7 cm., An oval carved object sits against a plain light gray background, showing a worn surface with rough textures and carved recessed shapes; the object displays a palette of browns, tans, dark brown to almost black areas, and a few small patches of red and off-white, with irregular contours and shallow grooves giving it an aged, uneven appearance.
