Bowl, Egyptian painted pottery bowl with conical shape and ring-shaped foot. Straight rim, slightly flaring outward, irregular. Wheel-made of Nile clay type ND Vienna System. Surface even, covered with glaze before firing; inner and outer rim bear a narrow ˜0.5 cm black band; remainder of vessel is red. Traces of polish; glaze slightly worn in places, possibly from use. Good condition with minor clay chips on rim and abrasions over surface. Analogies: Egypt's Golden Age no. 51, p. 78, ca. 1550–ca. 1425 BC; New Kingdom, early 18th Dynasty. Provenance notes: Edfu, Deir el-Medina . Vessel. Height 5.3 cm; rim diameter 15.1 cm; bottom diameter 3.1 cm., A shallow, wide bowl viewed from the side showing its rounded exterior and narrow base, with a rough, weathered surface and a chipped rim; the bowl is primarily reddish-brown with darker brown along the rim and a few lighter tan patches, set against a pale gray background.
