Bowl, Egyptian painted pottery bowl with conical shape and ring-shaped foot. Straight rim slightly flaring outward, irregular. Wheel-made of Nile clay type ND Vienna System. Surface even, covered with glaze before firing; inner and outer rim bear a narrow ~0.5 cm black band; remainder red. Traces of polish; glaze slightly worn in places possible use-wear. Good condition with minor clay chips on rim and abrasions over surface. Analogies: Egypt's Golden Age no. 51, p. 78, ca. 1550–ca. 1425 BC; New Kingdom, early 18th Dynasty. Possible find places: Edfu, Deir el-Medina. Vessel: height 5.3 cm; diameter 15.1 cm rim; diameter 3.1 cm bottom., A shallow, wide bowl viewed from the side with a tapered base and a slightly flared rim, showing a rough, weathered surface in terracotta and reddish-brown tones with areas of darker brown along the rim and small patches of lighter beige where the surface is worn; the background is a uniform pale gray.
