Vessel, Egyptian pottery ceramic clay vessel. A vessel with an almost spherical, slightly horizontally stretched shape, widest about half the height. Broad, sloping shoulders, very short neck. Rounded rim, oval in cross-section, slightly flaring. Rounded bottom. Horizontal cord impressions at the widest point of the vessel. NB2 clay according to the Vienna System with a significant amount of organic admixture. The surface is smooth. The vessel was made on a wheel, and approximately half of its height was worked with a knife or similar tool. Colour beige. Very well preserved. Ca. 2686–2181 BC; Old Kingdom, Edfu. Vessel height 28.5 cm; rim diameter 10.4 cm; body diameter 30.410 cm., A round, top-down view of a large clay vessel with a central circular opening, showing a rough, textured surface in shades of brown, tan, reddish-brown, gray, and muted beige, with a few darker spots and subtle lighter patches, set against a smooth light-gray background.
