Vessel, Egyptian pottery vessel with an almost spherical, slightly horizontally stretched shape, widest about half the height. Broad, sloping shoulders, very short neck, rounded rim oval in cross-section, slightly flaring and rounded bottom. Horizontal cord impressions at the widest point. NB2 clay Vienna System with a significant amount of organic admixture. Surface smooth. Made on a wheel; approximately half of its height was worked with a knife or similar tool. Beige color. Very well preserved. Date: ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC Old Kingdom, from Edfu. Height 28.5 cm; rim diameter 10.4 cm; body diameter 30.410 cm., A large round clay vessel with a narrow rim floating against a plain light gray background, showing a surface of earthy terracotta with areas of pale beige and muted pinkish tones, subtle gray patches, and darker brown spots; the vessel bears rough textured marks, scratch-like grooves, small pits, and a visible crack, with overall matte, weathered appearance and uneven coloration.
