Vessel, Egyptian pottery, hand-made clay vessel. An almost cylindrical vessel, widest in its upper part just below a straight, slightly tapering rim; rounded bottom; shoulders almost illegible. Handmade of Nile clay with numerous organic inclusions and limestone particles visible on the surface; carelessly made with uneven depressions, especially at the bottom; brown in color; cracks on the surface attributed to craftsmanship, kneading and firing. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC; Edfu. Vessel; height 37.9 cm; diameter 11.4 cm rim, 12.5 cm body., A tall cylindrical object with an uneven, rough surface showing a group of small pits and cracks, colored mostly reddish-brown with areas of grayish-brown and hints of darker brown; the top edge is slightly irregular and the bottom is rounded and more textured, with varying surface shadows against a pale gray background.
