Vessel, Egyptian pottery, handmade clay vessel, almost cylindrical, widest just below the straight tapering rim; rounded bottom; slightly marked, very narrow sloping shoulders. Made of Nile clay with numerous organic inclusions and limestone particles; surface uneven, better worked in upper part, with uneven depressions especially at the bottom. Color: brown. Fairly well preserved; surface cracks resulting from careless craftsmanship in kneading and firing. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC; from Edfu. Vessel; height 36.5 cm, diameter 11.5 cm rim, diameter 13.2 cm body., A vertically oriented cylindrical object with an irregular, textured surface that appears rough and pitted. The object shows earthy tones including shades of brown, tan, beige, and hints of gray. Its top is flattened and slightly uneven, while the sides are rounded with visible small holes, cracks, and indentations. The bottom tapers slightly and also shows rough, crumbly texture with some areas appearing more compacted. The background is a smooth neutral gray.
