Vessel, Egyptian pottery, ceramics, clay vessel, hand-made. An almost cylindrical vessel, widest in its upper part just below the rim. The bottom is rounded. The shoulders are slightly marked, irregular, very narrow, and sloping. The rim is straight, tapering. Handmade of Nile clay with numerous organic inclusions and limestone particles visible on the surface. The surface is uneven and better worked in the upper part. Carelessly made, with numerous uneven depressions on the surface, especially at the bottom. Color: brown. Fairly well preserved; surface cracks attributable to careless kneading of the clay and firing. ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, Edfu.
