Vessel, Egyptian pottery, ceramics; almost cylindrical hand-made clay vessel, widest just below the rim, rounded bottom, slightly marked narrow sloping shoulders, straight tapering rim. Made of Nile clay with numerous organic inclusions and limestone particles; surface uneven, better worked in upper part, with numerous uneven depressions especially at the bottom. Brown color. Fairly well preserved; surface cracks attributed to careless kneading and firing. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC; from Edfu. Function: vessel. Height 36.5 cm; diameter 11.5 cm rim, 13.2 cm body., A tall cylindrical object with a rough, pitted surface standing against a plain light gray background; the object appears textured and uneven with a weathered, earthy surface showing small holes, indentations, and irregularities; its color is predominantly light brown with areas of darker brown and subtle tan variations; the top edge is slightly rounded and shows a few lighter spots, while the lower portion tapers slightly and has a more irregular, craggy appearance.
