Vessel, Egyptian pottery, hand-made clay vessel of an ovoid, slightly downward-stretched shape, widest at about 2/3 of the height; broad sloping shoulders, very short wide neck, roller-shaped rim oval in cross-section and slightly flaring, rounded bottom. Made from NB2 clay Viennese System with significant organic temper. Constructed from two joined parts join at ~2/3 height, upper part turned. Surface leveled, possibly covered with a layer of engobe; traces of a white substance on outer surface and rim. Beige color. Well preserved. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC; provenance: Edfu. Vessel; height 34.6 cm, rim diameter 11.6 cm, body diameter 29 cm., A large rounded clay vessel with a narrow rim and an overall weathered, textured surface fills the frame, showing a palette of warm beige, light tan, and subtle reddish-brown tones with patches of pale gray and small darker brown spots, set against a smooth neutral gray background.
