Bowl, Deep, cup-shaped clay bowl with a slightly convex bottom and sides arching upwards; straight, flat-topped flaring rim. Made of Nile clay NB1 ?. Covered with an engobe containing red ochre and thoroughly polished. Color: red. Well-preserved with slight damage to the rim. Ceramic vessel, Old Kingdom ca. 2686–2181 BC, height 13.8 cm; rim diameter 28.8 cm; bottom diameter 11.9 cm. Comparative references: parallels cited to Mycerinus, Giza Necropolis II, Qau and Badari pottery types IV–VI dyn., Abydos Middle Cemetery late VI dynasty, Umm el-Qaab no. 85 IV dynasty, and Asyut pottery chronologies. Origin: Edfu., A single round bowl viewed from above with a broad rim and a concave interior, showing a worn terracotta surface in shades of reddish-brown and clay brown with patches of darker brown and faint lighter scuffs; a small rectangular lighter patch is visible near the center of the bowl's interior; the background is a uniform gray.
