Vessel, Egyptian pottery, hand-made clay vessel with a conical belly, widest in its upper part approximately 4/5 of the vessel's height. Rounded bottom. Irregularly marked shoulders—clearly sloping on one side, short and almost horizontal on the opposite. Straight, slightly tapering rim. Made of Nile clay with numerous organic inclusions and limestone particles visible on the surface. Uneven surface with numerous depressions; carelessly made. Brown color. Cracks on the surface resulting from poor clay kneading. Ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC Old Kingdom, Edfu. Vessel. Height 38 cm; diameter rim 11.7 cm; diameter body 15.7 cm., A roughly circular, hollow clay vessel viewed from above with a large irregular opening; the exterior surface shows a textured, weathered appearance with muted beige, tan, and light brown tones along with some subtle reddish-brown areas, and the interior appears very dark to black, set against a smooth light gray background.
