Vessel, Medium-sized clay jug with a biconical body, widest at about half its height; wide shoulders and an almost cylindrical neck that widens toward the profiled, irregular spout. The neck is about one-third of the vessel's height and appears to have been made separately and joined to the shoulders. The spout is slightly raised and extended on one side, forming a small triangular-cross-section pour; an approximately millimeter-sized cylindrical bulge is present on the outer profile. Bottom nearly flat with slight rounding. Outer and inner surfaces smoothed; both surfaces except interior of neck covered with engobe and polished. Made of Nile clay NB1? per Vienna System. Color reddish-brown. Good preservation with the rim slightly chipped in two places and some wear to the engobe. Dated c. 2345–c. 2181 BC, Old Kingdom, 6th Dynasty, from Edfu. Vessel; height 17 cm, rim diameter 9.8 cm, body diameter 14.6 cm, bottom diameter 9.5 cm. Comparable form: Saqqara II cat. 210–211 form 35; similar example from the same excavations Louvre E 16586., A single clay vessel with a wide rounded body tapering to a narrower neck and flared rim fills the frame, showing an overall reddish-brown surface with areas of lighter beige and darker brown speckling and small pits, a slightly uneven rim with traces of lighter deposits, and a matte, slightly rough texture against a plain light gray background.
