Medum-type bowl, Egyptian pottery, Medum-type bowl with characteristic carination under the rim. Rounded bottom. Straight, slightly flaring rim. Narrow, sloping shoulders. The diameter of the rim equals the diameter of the vessel's shoulders. Clay probably NB1. The surface was leveled and covered with a layer of engobe, then polished. Vessel color red. Vessel glued together from original fragments; minor losses on the rim. c. 2686–c. 2181 BC Old Kingdom, Edfu. Vessel; height 6.9 cm; diameter 24.5 cm rim, 24.9 cm shoulders., A shallow, rounded ceramic bowl shown upside down against a pale gray background, with an overall reddish-brown surface and a slightly raised rim that has visible wear and small chips; the exterior shows lighter, whitish streaks and smudges, a few hairline cracks, and subtle variations in the reddish-brown tone giving a textured, weathered appearance.
