Medum-type bowl with characteristic carination under the rim. Rounded bottom. Straight, slightly flaring rim. Narrow, sloping shoulders; the diameter of the rim equals the diameter of the shoulders. Clay probably NB1. Surface leveled, covered with an engobe layer, then polished. Vessel color red. Reassembled from original fragments; minor losses on the rim. Circa 2686–2181 BC Old Kingdom, from Edfu. Vessel; height 6.9 cm, rim diameter 24.5 cm, shoulder diameter 24.9 cm., A wide shallow bowl with a rounded base shown upside down, displaying a smooth rim and a gently curved exterior surface; the object is predominantly reddish-brown with variations of darker and lighter brown patches and a few pale spots and streaks, set against a pale gray background.
