Vessel, Egyptian ceramic vessel with an almost spherical belly, widest about 1/3 of the vessel's height; sloping shoulders; poorly defined, very short and wide neck; rounded, slightly flaring rim; rounded bottom. Made of Nile clay; surface smooth. Outer surface finished to about half its height with a knife or similar tool; a rather indistinct cord impression around the widest diameter of the belly. Colour light red. The vessel has a chipped rim and traces of salting in places over the entire surface. Comparative typology: similar to Mycerinus-period types II–III, ca. 2686–2181 BC Old Kingdom, Edfu. Dimensions: height 24.9 cm; rim diameter 10.3 cm; body diameter 24.2 cm., A spherical, weathered object with a rough, pitted surface in shades of brown, tan, ochre, and muted orange sits centered against a smooth light gray background; the surface shows patches of lighter and darker brown, small irregular holes and abrasions, and a few areas of off-white and pale greenish discoloration, with a small cluster of darker markings near the center.
