Vessel, Vessel with an almost spherical belly, widest about 1/3 of the vessel's height. Sloping shoulders. Neck poorly defined — very short and wide. Rounded, slightly flaring rim. Rounded bottom. Made of Nile clay NB. Surface smooth; outer surface finished to about half its height with a knife or similar tool. A rather indistinct cord impression around the widest diameter of the belly. Light red color. Chipped rim and traces of salting in places over the entire surface. Comparative typology: type II/III, ca. 2686–2181 BC; Old Kingdom, Edfu. Vessel height 24.9 cm; rim diameter 10.3 cm; body diameter 24.2 cm., A large rounded clay vessel with a narrow rim, showing a rough, weathered surface texture and small pits and speckles; the vessel displays shades of brown, tan, beige, and hints of warm reddish-orange, with areas of lighter off-white encrustation and faint darker brown marks.
