Jug, Egyptian pottery jug, cylindrical with flaring neck, clay, c. 2686–c. 2181 BC Old Kingdom, from Edfu; vessel height 18.6 cm, rim diameter 8.5 cm, body diameter 15.8 cm, bottom diameter 9.1 cm., A single clay vessel with a rounded body that tapers toward the base and rises to a flared neck, shown against a plain background. The vessel is predominantly terracotta brown with variations in tone and small dark speckles and fine surface cracks. The background is a uniform gray. The surface of the clay shows rough, slightly weathered texture and a few lighter and darker spots.
