Vessel with hieratic inscription, Egyptian pottery, clay vessel, conical vessel tapering toward the bottom, irregular, widest approx. 3/4 of the height; narrow, strongly sloping shoulders; short, wide neck; very gently rounded, flaring rim; pointed bottom. Handcrafted; upper part shoulders, neck, rim turned. Smooth surface, exterior probably covered with a layer of engobe. Made of Nile clay Vienna System. In the lower part of the belly there are remains of a hieratic inscription in black. The vessel is complete. Comparative material cited; dated to the Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC, findspot Edfu. Dimensions: height 13.8 cm; rim diameter 5.7 cm; body diameter 7.5 cm., A top-down view of a round, hollow clay vessel with a rough, textured surface in shades of brown and tan, set against a flat gray background; the vessel's interior appears very dark, almost black, and the rim shows small imperfections and subtle variations in brown tones.
