Vessel with hieratic inscription. Egyptian pottery, clay vessels, ceramics. Hand-made vessel, turned in the upper part neck, spout. Conical shape, tapering towards the bottom, irregular, widest approx. 3/4 of the height. Narrow, slightly sloping shoulders. Short, wide neck. Rounded, slightly flaring spout. Pointed bottom. Smooth surface. Color light red. Made of Nile clay NB2 Vienna System. In the lower part of the belly there are remains of a hieratic inscription in black. Quite well preserved; rim slightly damaged. Comparative material cited; earlier dated to the 4th–5th Dynasty Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC. Find site: Edfu. Vessel dimensions: height 15.7 cm; rim diameter 5.7 cm; belly diameter 8.5 cm., A single large clay vessel is shown against a plain gray background; the vessel has a rounded shoulder that tapers to a pointed base and a short, slightly flared rim. The surface of the vessel is rough and textured with pits, small inclusions, and irregular marks. The dominant color of the vessel is a warm earthy brown with subtle variations and lighter beige patches. The background is a uniform neutral gray.
