Vessel with hieratic inscription. Hand-made clay vessel, turned in the upper part neck, spout. Conical shape tapering towards the bottom, irregular; widest approx. 3/4 of the height. Narrow, slightly sloping shoulders; short, wide neck; rounded, slightly flaring spout; pointed bottom. Smooth surface. Color light red. Made of Nile clay NB2 Vienna System. Remains of a hieratic inscription in black on the lower part of the belly. Fairly well preserved; rim slightly damaged. Old Kingdom ca. 2686–2181 BC, Edfu. Height 15.7 cm; rim diameter 5.7 cm; belly diameter 8.5 cm., A large earthenware vessel with an elongated, tapered body and a rounded shoulder, shown against a plain gray background; the surface is rough and textured with visible pits, scratches, and small chips, displaying a mix of tan, light brown, beige, and faint reddish-brown tones, with a few areas of darker brown and small pale grayish spots, and a noticeable crack and some surface irregularities near the lower portion.
