Vessel with hieratic inscription, Egyptian pottery, conical clay vessel tapering toward the bottom, irregular, widest approx. 3/4 of the height. Narrow, only slightly sloping shoulders; short, wide neck; very gently rounded, slightly flaring rim; pointed bottom. Handcrafted; upper part shoulders, neck, rim turned. Smooth surface, exterior probably covered with engobe. In the widest part three shallow horizontal lines over ~0.8 cm. Made of Nile clay NB2 Vienna System. Remains of a hieratic inscription in black sht on lower body. Vessel complete, well-preserved. Comparative parallels cited; earlier dated to the 4th–5th Dynasty / Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC. Findspot: Edfu. Dimensions: height 14.4 cm; rim diameter 5.4 cm; body diameter 8.4 cm., A weathered clay jar with a rounded rim and a tapered pointed base fills the frame; its surface is rough and pitted with irregular small holes and encrustations, showing varied earthy tones of brown, tan, and beige with occasional lighter whitish speckles, all set against a plain neutral gray background.
