Vessel with hieratic inscription. Egyptian pottery conical vessel tapering towards the bottom, irregular, widest approx. 3/4 of the height. Narrow shoulders, only slightly sloping; short, wide neck; very gently rounded, slightly flaring rim; pointed bottom. Handcrafted; upper part shoulders, neck, rim turned. Smooth surface, externally probably covered with a layer of engobe. In the widest part three shallow horizontal lines over a space of approx. 0.8 cm. Made of Nile clay NB2 Vienna System. Remains of a hieratic inscription in black sht in the lower part of the body. Vessel complete, well-preserved. Comparative parallels cited. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC. Dimensions: height 14.4 cm; rim diameter 5.4 cm; body diameter 8.4 cm., A single weathered clay vessel with an elongated, tapered body and a narrow rounded rim, showing a rough, pitted surface texture and small chips, in shades of brown and tan against a neutral gray background.
