Vessel with hieratic inscription. Conical clay vessel tapering toward the bottom; irregular, widest at approx. 3/4 of the height. Narrow, only slightly sloping shoulders; short, wide neck; very gently rounded, slightly flaring rim; pointed bottom. Handcrafted — upper part shoulders, neck, rim turned. Smooth surface, externally probably covered with an engobe. In the widest part three shallow horizontal lines over approx. 0.8 cm. Made of Nile clay NB2 Vienna System. Remains of a hieratic inscription in black sht on the lower body. Vessel complete, well-preserved. Comparative parallels cited; earlier dated to the 4th–5th Dynasty / Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC. Find spot: Edfu.
