Jug. Jug with a biconical belly, widest at about half its height. Broad, not very sloping shoulders. Wide neck, slightly widening toward the spout; neck height about one-third of total vessel height. Profiled, irregular spout, slightly raised and extended on one side forming a small secondary spout; spout nearly triangular in cross-section with an approx. 1 mm indentation at center of outer profile. Bottom very slightly rounded. Made of Nile clay NB1? per Vienna System. Neck was made separately and joined to the body; joint traces erased. Outer surface smoothed, covered with an engobe and polished. Inner surface smoothed except for the neck, which was also covered with engobe and polished. Color reddish-brown. Well preserved; rim slightly chipped in two places and engobe worn in places on outer surface. Provenance: Edfu — local workshop. Comparative material: Reisner, Mycerinus, fig. 69 1–2, types XIX–XX, ca. 2686–2181 BC Old Kingdom; comparable vessel: height 17.4 cm, rim Ø 8.1 cm, body Ø 15 cm, base Ø 8.6 cm., A single terracotta vessel with an orange-brown surface stands against a plain gray background, showing a rounded body that tapers toward the base and a narrow neck that flares into a slightly irregular rim with chips; the surface displays a few lighter and darker patches, some small rough spots and scratches, and areas where the clay appears worn or discolored.
