Canopic jar lid - falcon head, unknown creator; canopic jar; Sons of Horus mythology; falcon iconography; Egyptian art; Egyptian sculpture; Kebehsenuf mythology. Canopic jar lid in the shape of a plastically modeled falcon head, with details around the beak and eyes rendered with delicate modeling. On the underside, a wide tenon securing the lid in the urn's opening. 664–332 BC, Late Period, Egypt. Canopic jar; height 11 cm, width 9 cm., A roughly carved stone object with a rounded top and a bulbous protrusion on one side, showing a carved recessed curve resembling an eye area and layered contours. The surface is textured and pitted, with visible tooling marks and small chips, and the stone displays shades of off-white, beige, pale gray, and hints of warm tan. The object sits against a dark background casting a soft shadow, and its base appears slightly narrower with an irregular bottom edge.
