Dagger, unknown Luristan workshop. Short dagger with a blade cast together with a mushroom-shaped hilt and a rimmed mount; the raised edges of the mount served to hold a hilt casing that has not been preserved possibly bone, wood, horn, or stone. In the central part of the mount, short arched sheet-metal protrusions are bent inward to secure the casing. The hilt merges directly into a lanceolate, double-edged blade with a central point. The base of the blade is a convex ring, open at the bottom. A prominent ridge runs through the center of the blade from the tip to the base, widening in the ring area to create a small convex triangular region. Height 24 cm; width 2.5 cm; depth 1.1 cm; weight 76 g., A single metal dagger is shown vertically against a light gray background, with a dark, slightly flared handle that tapers into a narrow neck and a rounded guard area, and a long double-edged blade that narrows to a pointed tip; the metal shows varied tones of dark gray, black, and patches of lighter gray with areas of brownish discoloration and a subtle metallic sheen.
