Fragment of an architrave with preserved hieroglyphs in recessed relief. From the left, the sign hor, followed by the signs n and t. Traces of yellow polychrome are preserved on the surface. c. 1479–c. 1425 BC; New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty possibly Thutmose III. Findspot: Buhen, Faras site/country of find. Bas-relief, architectural element. Height 31 cm; width 60 cm; depth 52 cm; weight 143.5 kg., A rectangular stone slab in beige and light brown tones with rough, weathered texture shows a low-relief carving of a stylized bird profile on the left, with a rounded head, beak, and a simple carved eye, and a gently curved body and wing lines; across the upper center is a row of carved triangular shapes creating a sawtooth pattern in darker brown shadows; near the lower right there is a semicircular recessed area with warmer brown shading; the background of the slab displays striations and slightly darker flecks, and the overall colors visible are beige, light brown, warm brown, and gray.
